Hello and welcome to my first blog post!

Welcome everyone to my new portfolio website/blog! My name is Jen (aka inkybluemoon) and I'm starting this blog because I wanted to share my art journey. I'm a graphic designer who especially loves surface pattern design. My dream is to one day work full time making patterns and to see my designs on actual products in stores!

For my first post I thought that I would talk about my new pattern for Spoonflower. This week we are doing another colour palette challenge for East Fork Pottery. I really like this colour palette and I managed to come up with a design easily using these colours.

I used to draw my patterns by hand, scan them in and then digitise and arrange them but that process is very time consuming and not very versatile for pattern making. Because of this I am now trying to get better at painting using Photoshop, with this being my second attempt!
